Summer Camp

Our summer camp is open from the first to the last day of student recess.

The following is a typical camp schedule:

8:30am to 9:00am -  Children’s arrival.

9:00am to 10:00am - Initial gathering in the classroom and discussion of popular topics including nature, science and technology along with fun activities and setting of the day’s agenda.

10:00am to 11:00am - A great variety of sports activities on the camp’s territory including basketball, ping-pong, table hockey, pool, fitness machines and various other kinds of exercise.

11:00am to 12:30pm - Swimming in the big pool with creative games on the camp’s territory (including table games such as chess, checkers, domino, lotto, etc.)

12:30pm to 1:00pm - Individual preparation for lunch.

1:00pm to 2:00pm - Tasty lunch, fruits, and drinks.

2:00pm to 3:30pm - Reading of books and engaging in various creative projects to demonstrate simple principles of physics and chemistry as well as other projects. We also learn Russian language, mathematics, drawing and play-doh.

3:30pm to 5:00pm - Swimming in the pool and various sports activities.

5:00pm to 6:00pm - Dessert and ice cream followed by discussion of the projects created during the day, intellectual contests and summary of knowledge learned during the day.

We regularly study Russian language i.e. reading, writing, composition of essays and poems. We also study non-standard mathematics which helps develop skills for logic and creativity such as Mathmania, Puzzlegrams, Art lessons, etc.

As a rule, there are often children in the camp that have birthdays and we prepare plays, games and skids which develop their talents in music, dance and gymnastic exercises. Children demonstrate their abilities in front of the audience with pleasure which typically ends with a characteristic Russian and English song followed by a delicious cake with candles.

We do regular field trips to various parks, hiking places and museums and visit library for instruction lessons (twice a month). In addition, we go bowling, ice skating and roller skating and travel to Santa Barbara, Solvang, MandalŠ°y Beach.

On Fridays as a rule we hold a variety of athletic and intellectual contests. Children with best scores and achievements are given awards (in chess, checkers, domino, lotto, ping pong, basketball, hockey and science projects). Also on Fridays, we eat pizza and go to the movies.

Children are transported to and from the camp by their parents. In some instances, the camp owners may transport children for an additional payment.
